About Canes Cay
Canes Cay is a 7+ acre Island located in Abaco, Bahamas. It frames a cove between Scotland Cay and Great Guana Cay. This cove has been featured on the cover of the Abaconian several times and in National Geographic. The Abacos are known as the “family Islands” because of the beautiful waters, casual lifestyle and honest, safe community.
THE ISLAND LOCATION
• 12 miles to charming Hopetown, a local, historic settlement and lighthouse located on Elbow Cay.
• 6 miles to Man-O-War, another Abaconian historic settlement, known for their boat-making and sail craft.
• 19 miles to historic Green Turtle, another charming historic settlement.
• 6 miles west is Discovery’s Bakers Bay known for its celebrities and barefoot golf.
• 6 miles East is the new Montage development on Matt Lowes Cay, where two bedroom homes are starting
over $4.25 million before finishes.
• 18 miles southeast is Southwinds’ award winning, Winding Bay Golf Course and Resort.
• 7 miles to Marsh Harbour International Airport, about a 1-hour flight to Palm Beach or Miami. Served by American air, Delta, Bahamas Air and Private Airlines.
Both houses have new 2022 and 2023 roofs, all new appliances, including new pumps and new water heaters.
The two icemakers have not arrived yet. The guest house has all new wiring, new storm doors in the dining room, living rooms and bedrooms. The main house has a solar back up system.
There is work still being done on the island to repair damage from Hurricane Dorian. Remaining projects includes:

⁃ Purchase of larger dingy $100k
⁃ Contingency ($90k)
⁃ Totaling about ($0.9 mm) which is in the works now, but the remainder will be escrowed for a buyer until complete.

*Also included is a 32’ World Cat Dual Console (2020) … all included in the asking price. The air strip supports small craft, Pilates, twin engines and small jets. (runway is 3200ft.) boat is currently kept in Marsh Harbour where we fly into our taxi driver picks us up and take us to the grocery store, liquor, store and bakery and then to our boat,where we have a 20 - 25 minute crossing to the island. The boat is kept in a warehouse when
we are not in the Bahamas.
